Shot 1: I created the arm to become slightly invisible. Using roto shapes to mask her arm and roto shapes to make sure the girl helping her stays over the invisible “faded” arm.

Shot 2: I made the foggy mist over the shot so that I can roto the girl so as she walks into the distance, she fades away.
